From Megan's Viewpoint

Megan is a little sneak. She's always found with things that she KNOWS she shouldn't have. One is the camera. Even though we put it away, she always seems to find it and start snapping pictures! (Good thing they are digital!)

I was going to delete the pictures she took one day when I noticed that these pictures were what SHE saw from her level! I can't delete them now...rather I've put them into a slide show so that you can see what she sees. It's pretty interesting! (And maybe a little incriminating too!) Enjoy!

How little girls sleep

This little girl sleeps in her very own pink bed, upside down, with her hot pink Sunday shoes at her side.

What's better than that? :)

PS - on a completely different note, notice what's under the bed? Yep - food storage! Remind you of a scene in a movie? Take a guess, let's see how many people get it right.

While You Were Sleeping...

Yesterday, when Ric got home from work, I jumped into the shower. Apparently, Ric dozed off, and Megan went to town with the permanent marker!

The funniest part of all this? Ric didn't even realize it until later that night! He had no idea that he had become the canvas to one of her projects! Even better...we didn't discover her "wall art" until this morning!

(Obviously we're two VERY OBLIVIOUS parents! hehe Notice the lovely circles behind her on the wall? Purple Permanent Marker - Thank goodness for Magic Eraser!)

More Photos by Ryan - and a Few by Meg!

Enjoy!

(Yes, they are upside down on purpose. Ryan put the camera on the floor and took the pictures! Pretty "artistic" if you ask me!)

Piggie Tails!

How cute is this?

Somehow, I managed to get pig tails into Megan's hair today. They only lasted about 10 minutes though. Ryan decided to wrestle with her and they came out.

Good thing I got this picture first! I LOVE that she's hiding her eyes!

Happy Hoo Hoo Megan!

We just returned from Megan's 2-year visit with the pediatrician. She weighs 26 pounds and is 34 inches tall! Just right!

Here you go - highlights of Megan's party!

The Birthday Girl! Happy Hoo Hoo Megan! (That's what she says when we say "Happy Birthday" to anyone!)

So I have to brag a little about the cupcakes I made. Don't they look fabulous? I just used a boxed cake and the buttercream icing recipe from the Wilton website. I added some pink coloring and then piped it on to the cupcakes. (Instructions are on the website too for how to make the swirl.) Yes, there was just as much frosting as cake, but don't they look pretty? After everything was frosted, I used spray food color to "highlight" the edges.

Even the roses that Daddy brought home for Megan (and mom) matched! (No, we didn't plan that one.) Lastly, the invitation I sent out matches too. I'm all done being "matchy matchy" for a while! Whew!

Ryan was more interested in the presents. He had been asking ALL DAY if it was time to open them.

Once she saw the coloring book and crayons - none of the other gifts mattered!

Funny thing about the party hat. As soon as we said it was time for the cake, she ran to get it and put it on. She's all about the accessories!

Blowing out ALL those candles!

Trying out her new "wheels."

Our 'Rock Star' - 'High Fever' Weekend!

We had a crazy weekend . We were hoping to make the best of it since it was Ric's last few days off, but no such luck with two kids!

Ric was able to take Ryan to get his hair cut, flipped up in the front, and some fun color added to the "flip." A girl from Church works at SnipIts now, we they went specifically to see her.

When they got back, Ryan immediately got on to his tricycle and rode around like a "rock star" - how do I know?

All he kept saying was..."I'm a WOCK STAR" as he was riding around in circles in front of our house. Hysterical!

Megan - on the other hand was not so lucky. On Thursday, she ended up with a really high fever (103ish.) She's really lethargic and clingy. We called the doctor and made an appointment for the morning, and were told to just try alternating Motrin and Tylenol to control it.

This started a roller coaster of ups and downs. Down to normal, then back up to 101 or 102. Megan's doctor said that she was seeing a lot of her symptoms and it was basically the flu. We just had to make sure that she was drinking fluids.

We all ended up staying home from most of Church on Sunday - just in case. (Though I did play the organ for Sacrament meeting and then left right after.) I even bowed out of a FAB Girls night out on Saturday since I didn't want to take the chance of spreading any flu germs around.

Doesn't she look miserable in these pictures? Poor thing! Since the Motrin was bringing the fever down a little, but it would spike back up, we decided to let the fever do its job and kill off whatever virus was there.

One idea I found was to take her socks, soak them in white vinegar, and put them on her to hopefully draw the toxins out. I don't know if that's what did it, but finally today her temperature is back to normal! (Though her feet smelled like pickles! heh)

Today she's just coughing and sneezing all the gunk out - so hopefully soon, she'll be back to normal! :)

So much fun - hope your weekend was better than ours!

Crash!

I guess the "I Can Go Potty" DVD was a little too much for Megan. She laid herself right down and fell asleep. Ryan was the one who got the blanket to cover her up before he came to tell me that she was asleep. (Isn't he a sweet brother?)

Notice the potty chair, just in case *someone* is inspired to try it. The soda and pillows, which is currently the makings of a train.

And last, notice the mess of "strawberry" curls peeking out from under the blanket. So cute!

LOVE those Specs!

So all of a sudden it got quiet in the living room. Of course, that usually means that something isn't right.

I walked in...and saw Megan, sitting behind the coffee table, WITH (look closely) Mr. Potato Head glasses on!

I just about died when she looked up at me - like she was a little old lady peering over her spectacles! Too bad I had to run for my camera and this is all I could get!

(Yes, she is wearing Ryan's t-shirt, she insisted.)

Nursery Girl!

Yippeeee! Megan is 18 months old now...and that means she's in the Nursery at Church! (Mom and Dad do the happy dance.)

Actually, she's been going in there the past few weeks and has adjusted very well. In fact, if you remember Ryan's LONG-DRAWN-OUT experience, Megan hasn't shed one tear yet! Ryan has been splitting his time between Primary (sharing/singing time only) and Nursery and didn't want to go back to Nursery today, he wanted to stay in Primary!

WOW, I'm going to have a "Sunbeam" in a few weeks - time sure flies by!

Halloween Preview

I have to say - I'm quite pleased with how these costumes turned out! The best part? BOTH costumes together cost LESS than $10! Woo Hoo! I used pink, orange, and black felt, a little bit of fake fur, a foam hat (that was covered in felt), a plastic club (which Megan liked to hold), and a bag of bones!

Megan even kept her barrette in her hair all night and I was able to get a few cute pictures at the annual Ward "Trunk or Treat!"

Meg would have NOTHING to do with it at first. Don't you love this face? It was cold, windy, and a little drizzly. But the kids really had a great time. We probably had most, if not all of the Primary kids there who were in town. Those adults who were adventurous, decorated the trunks of their cars and everyone handed out candy. (Now...we just have to keep it away from them so it's not all gone in just a few minutes!)

When the kids were all done, they just hung out in the back of the van and played with all their loot! Ryan's little friend Michael joined them too!

It was fun for the kids - now on to Florida where we'll be able to trick or treat without coats! Yippeee!

Our Good Luck Charm

THIS is the REAL reason the RedSox pulled out a miracle comeback last night!

Megan insisted that she wear the shirt that Ryan took off last night OVER her little frilly pink nightgown.

To top it off - this morning, she added shoes to the whole look.

You can bet we're not taking it off today!

GO SOX! :)

Bone Head!

First...can you believe that Megan FINALLY has enough hair to put in a barrette?

And, Second, can you guess what she's going to be for Halloween? :)

SHOES!

It's all Megan is in to these days. Right after I change her clothes in the morning, she picks a pair to wear. She will follow me around the house until I put them on her! She even knows which ones are which. She does the same when I put her PJ's on - she has to have shoes to match! :)

Today, for example, she decided that she wanted to wear her Sunday shoes. There was no talking her out of them.

Reminds me of a little someone I know who lives in Florida now! We used to call her Miss Emelda! Am I right Sue? :)

It must be a girl thing because Ryan was never interested in them. He'd rather be barefoot - unless he's wearing his sneakers that light up when he walks!

Distressed? Maybe a little!

I guess that this little crafty ink pad of mine doesn't mix very well with an inquisitive 14-month old! What do you think?

So after taking a quick picture (couldn't let this one pass me by!) Wiping off her face, hands, and sippy cup. I turned over the ink pad to see, much to my relief, "Non Toxic" - WHEW!

Unfortunately, I wasn't the one who noticed! I was checking my email and Ryan happened to say, very calm-like, "What's Megan got on her face? Megan's got brown stuff on her face." (Way to know your colors Ryan! hehe)

Note to Self...

...frost cake BEFORE you give the kids baths! What was I thinking? *sigh*

Megan had a BALL with the little beater I used to fluff up the frosting in a can! :)

(Didn't know that trick? If you want your frosting to REALLY frost a 2 layer cake, whip it up first! You'll have some left over! You'll thank me later. hehe)

By the way, I'm LOVING my new offset spreader from Pampered Chef! Martha really is right, it's MUCH easier to frost a cake, or cupcakes with them!

There's the cake! It looks a little"waxy" - I promise it really isn't!

First "Pew" Boo Boo

Poor Megan. We aren't even sure what happened.

While the Sacrament was being passed yesterday, either Ryan pushed her (most likely cause) or she fell into the bench in front of us. Not just the bench though, it was into the only pointed part of the hymnal holder!

Of course, she wanted me, so I snuck down from the organ, scooped her up (after some blood curdling screams and sobbing), and took her out.

She looks much better in this picture, but her whole eye was red and swollen. :( A little "mommy" cuddles later, she was sniffling, and eventually just fine. (Mommy on the other hand...)

Cursed Blue Jumper!

(WOW! Would you believe that this is our 375th post?)

Megan has this cute little blue jumper that I swear is jinxed. Every time she wears it, disaster (in the form of a mess) is soon to follow. Why I still put it on her, I have no idea.

Today was no exception. I put it on her thinking that since I wasn't going to be here for a few hours (classes started again at NEIT) that maybe she'd make it without incident.

Nope.

Get this, less than 15 minutes before the babysitter was to arrive and I had to leave, I'm getting the rest of my stuff together in the office. Ryan comes in and says, "Megan's a mess." I didn't think anything of it until he said it again and then looked down the hall at her as she walked into the office.

I don't know if the noise that came out of my mouth could be heard by anyone outside of the house - but I'm SURE if it was heard, the police would have been at our door just minutes later! I felt as if I was moving in s.l.o.w m.o.t.i.o.n. as I ran to TRY to keep her away from anything she might touch! Didn't happen though.

The next thing I know, peanut butter is smeared all over Ric's chair, a cardboard box that has some genealogy in it, the large leather chair in the living room, and various hand prints on the carpet! Not to mention my pants!

(I couldn't let the moment go by without taking a picture - and I got a good one, but then the battery on the camera dies!)

So I grab the offending child and throw her in her high chair so that I can at least restrain her while I try to clean her up. (No time to throw her in the tub!) I also grab the OTHER offender - the one who moved his stool from the bathroom to the kitchen - grabbed the peanut butter off the counter - took it into the living room - unscrewed the lid, and then gave it to Megan - and threw him in his room and locked the door. First, so that I wouldn't KILL him, and second so that he'd be out of the way as I cleaned up the mess!

By this time, I'm sweating like crazy, just in time to run out the door and teach my class. I think I must have used half a container of clorox wipes AND half a package of baby wipes to clean her all up! Peanut butter was EVERYWHERE!

My guess is that she's not allergic to peanuts. I'm sure we would have had a worse incident if she was. Combine this with a previous PB episode, and we're pretty sure she's skipped that allergy!

I think, as cute as it is, I'm going to throw that darn jumper away! (None too soon!)

...put her in the grass!

Notice that one foot is off the ground. She just doesn't like how it feels on her toes!

Megan's Birthday Party!

Since it is Father's Day and the kids are napping, Ric has taken up residence on the couch for the rest of the day. This gives me the chance to put a few pictures up of Megan's 1st Birthday Party!

You'll see that we had a lot of friends and family there, as well as some neighbors - so glad you all came! The company was fabulous, and we couldn't have asked for better weather! (OK, I could have done without the slight bit of humidity! )

I love the first picture... there's Megan in the middle of the presents, holding on to a can of soda. Now we all know, she doesn't care about the toys - just give her a soda can! :)

Who's that gal in the "Foster Grant's?" LOVE the shades Megan! hehe

Of course we had party hats for all the kids (and some of the adults.) Megan posed perfectly! The Chocolate cake was FABULOUS! (Thanks GiGi!)

While everyone else was running around, Megan just sat with her cake and ate and ate - loving every bite! We even found cake in her belly button later that night!

Her cake had Strawberry Shortcake on it - and she had a hat to match!

Then there was Ryan - he was everywhere! I honestly don't know HOW much sugar he ate, but it was a TON! He just had a ball playing with all the kids, eating whatever he could find that was sweet, and helping Megan open her presents.

Happy Birthday Miss Megan - WE LOVE YOU!

PS - Special thanks to Scott Gooch, who stepped up and took pictures for us with our camera - we probably would have forgotten with all the craziness going on and missed something important!

Bobble-Head Baby

Megan has gotten into the habit of sitting up when I put her down for a nap; just because she can! She doesn't cry or anything like that, she's just making a statement that she's still awake and not going to lay down for a nap. Well... she usually falls asleep SITTING UP!

I took this video the other day...she's asleep, trying to keep from falling over. Too funny!

So...we're thinking about sending this to Funniest Home Videos. What do you think? Would you vote for it? (Maybe it's only funny to us since she's OURS!)

Over-reactive mom?

Megan has had a fever off and on since Monday. Last night it went up to 103.8. That freaks me out just a little bit! She was so fussy and restless last night that it didn't make for a very good night's sleep!

Today she woke up and was relatively "normal" (99.6) and was acting like her old self. Until the Motrin wore off again! So, I decided that it was time to call the pediatrician...who knows what could be happening with her! They are able to see us at 10:15 am, so in just 45 minutes, we all get dressed, I drop off Ryan with a friend from Church (who is rushing around herself because a home inspector is coming over at 10:00 - so she takes her kids and Ryan to the park!), and I run to the doc.

Megan is DEFINITELY not herself. Just laying all over me, pretty lethargic. We get there, they take her temp (99.8), the doctor comes in (Not her regular one), listens and looks at everything, and then says...it looks like it's just a cold. Kids will get "summer colds" this time of year. But since she's still eating and there's no sign of ear infection, etc. She'll come out of it. Just keep doing what you're doing.

OK, so I could have stayed home and done what I'm doing without the doctor having to tell me (after a 45 minute mad dash AND a $15 copay!) *sigh* Here's hoping she gets over it soon!

(At least it got Ryan out to play a little and I was able to hang with Emily for an hour or so after we were done! So it wasn't a total waste of a morning!)

A question...

How does someone this pretty....

this cute....

this sweet....

...become THIS MESSY??? (Hmmm...could it be the pasta and sauce I gave her?)

I can't believe it - Happy 11 Months Megan! Time has flown by WAY too fast! You have 5 teeth, you're telling us all sorts of stories. You say "Da-a-Da" now. You pull yourself up and cruise around a little. You're the fastest "crawler" in the East! And you're ALL OURS! Can't wait to see what you're doing in another month when you turn ONE!

Just a few more pictures...these were taken the first time Megan sat on the grass without freaking out. She didn't move much though. Every time she tried to crawl, she touched the grass and changed her mind!

Do horses sleep standing up?

Megan has been sitting up in her crib lately after I put her down for a nap. Up until the last few days, she just lays there and goes to sleep once I put her down, but since she's figured out that she can sit up (and pull herself up) in the crib, she does it!

Today was no different. I put her in the crib and she sat right up. I left the room for a while and heard her babbling to herself. About 20 minutes later, I peek into the room. Megan is still sitting up, eyes closed, head bobbing, etc. Too funny! She's asleep and still sitting up!

(Darn, I should have gotten a picture!)

Our Little Super Star!

I was looking for it, but couldn't find the picture I have of ME when I was a baby wearing my dad's sunglasses. I wanted to post it up here with THESE pictures of Megan.

Can you guess which one is me? (Don't let the fact that it's in black and white, and there's a date stamp of August '69 on it fool you! hehe NOT to mention the upholstery on the chair I'm sitting in!)

Everyone says that Megan looks so much like Ryan, who looks so much like Ric. I'm usually saying to myself...hey what about me? I was the one who carried her, wasn't I?

Well...here's the proof, Megan is MY daughter - can't miss that resemblance, can you? :)

It must be a "girl" thing...

...we officially have a SCREAMER! Her big brother was nothing like this. I think I'm losing what's left of my hearing! (What's left after playing the drums from Jr. High through College!)

Megan now tells us how she feels when things aren't going her way. If she wants to be picked up, if Ryan is bothering her, if she's hungry, etc. It's all communicated with a shrieking scream. It's a new thing, so luckily, those who sit around us in Church haven't had to experience it yet, but maybe she'll share it with us for Easter Sunday! :)

By the way - Happy 9 Months Megan! She was 19 pounds 7 ounces and 27 3/4" at her 9-month appointment. She's also crawling! Though she's not going very far yet. Meg will take a few "steps" then sit back to see how far she's gone. Then does it again. She can pretty much get to where she wants to go!

(I know this last picture is blurry, but you can still see the funny look on her face!)

Easter Dress for Miss Muffin

I'm SO excited that I have a little girl to dress up for Easter this year! So much so that I decided to make her dress! (Yep - I sew. The proof is in the picture - see the machine on the table in the background?)

I had about 1 1/2 hours to myself last week to go to the fabric store and find everything I needed. And this is the result It's a little sun dress, but she'll be wearing the jacket too. It also has "panties" and a little sun hat that's too big f0r her head. We might have to the hair bow route instead.

Can't wait to post pictures of her in it! :)

Maddie's Birthday!

On Saturday, we had the opportunity to go to Maddie's 3rd birthday party. It was held at the Providence Children's Museum, a place that's just INSANE! (BUT, it's a TON of fun for the kids!)

Here are just a few pictures - some are pics I took, and others I borrowed from Maddie's Mom. (Thanks Rach! SO CUTE!)

Ryan "stole" the drum as soon as he saw it! (Taking after Mom, I think!) He carried it around for quite a while - until the M-n-M's were put out on the table!
Again, the moving to the beat of his own drum - he had to sit at the FRONT of the room, not with all the other kids while they were reading a story!
After animal stories, the kids all made their own masks. Ryan's ended up with just a few pieces of paper on it - call him a minimalist I guess!

Then the kids all marched around the room with their masks and the leader beating the drum. Did Ryan follow along? Nope...he just did his own thing, marching in place.

And here's the birthday girl! How cute is she? (And how cute are they holding hands?)

I wish this picture wasn't so blurry! Just so cute to see them holding hands! (Notice Ryan's name tag on the back of his shirt...that way he wouldn't take it off!)
Cute Megan, just hanging out while she takes it all in!
Ryan was making sure that I knew there was a birthday cake on the table. He pointed it out a few times!
CUTE CUTE Birthday Girl!
Happy Birthday Maddie! Thanks for inviting us - we had a great time!

(LOVE this picture! Look at how much fun she had with her cake!)

Big Boy Bath!

Yes, we know that Megan is not a boy...but just as we put her in the tub for the first time, Ryan said, "Megan big boy bath!"

Look at that pudgy tummy and the squishy rolls on her thighs - I just LOVE them!

Daddy Found Teeth!

Usually I'm the one who finds these things, but Ric brought Megan to me today with a new discovery! Two teeth have poked their way through the bottom! No wonder she's been fussy for a couple of days - I just thought that she wasn't feeling good because of her shots on Thursday. It was probably a combination of both!

Megan's first teeth came MUCH earlier than Ryan's did (he waited 11 months before we saw his first one!)

Hmmm...this ought to be interesting, breastfeeding with teeth can't be all that pleasant.

Time for a Checkup!

Today was Ryan's 2-year checkup and Megan's 6-month checkup. Both are doing really well and both ended up getting shots. :(

Ryan's Vital Stats: 36" long, 27 pounds 12 ounces
Megan's Vital Stats: 27" long, 17 pounds 7 ounces

One thing we do have to do for Ryan is see a pediatric urologist. Apparently his left testicle may have a hernia. Hmmmm...how exactly does one get a hernia THERE? Our pediatrician said that it's actually very common and isn't an emergency, but will have to get fixed eventually. So we'll keep you posted!

Santa Guy

Yep - that's his new name...Santa Guy.

We'd been telling Ryan all week that we'd go see Santa today. (Kind of a reward for being good at the Doctor's office!) So he's been talking about "going to see Santa Guy" non stop!

I'm sure you can guess what happens next...he's completely excited when we see him from afar, but the closer we get, the more we hear "no, no, no" from Ryan.

So how did we actually get a picture with a smiling Ryan? Well...if you look closely, you can probably see that's sitting on MY lap! They were good enough to put a border around the picture and cut me out of it! Yippeee!

(Notice that Megan is just hanging out...nothing phases her right now!)

By the way, we went to the Warwick Mall to see this particular Santa because he's the best in the state! He looks like Santa all year long, beard and all!

Sing it Girl!

Megan has found her voice.

She'll sit now for at least a half hour and just sing while she plays with her toys. I was lucky enough to get a couple of quick videos today. She was singing up a storm when I grabbed the video camera to record her. Of course, she stopped as soon as I was facing her with the camera (something I think she learned from her brother!) So I just sat the camera on the table and worked on Christmas cards with her sitting next to me. Eventually she started up again, and I started the camera. :)

First, she sings with her toys...

Second, she sings, blows bubbles, and hiccups with her toys. (This girl is talented!)

I'm a little behind on my posts now that I'm a "postal widow!" (Ric is working nights for the next 3 weeks - all to make sure YOUR Christmas packages get to where they're going on time! Hope you're happy! hehe)

Anyway, I took the kids to get some pictures taken, and here are the results. Of course these are the low resolution versions from the website, but you can still tell how cute they are! :)

(Hopefully, I'll have some time today to update this site with Ryan's birthday festivities!)

Sitting Up! (Kind of...)

OK, so she's propped up on all sides, but she's trying! I'm sure it will be another month or more before she can sit on her own, but for now, this will work!

LOVE that smile! :)

Once again...Ryan has to get in on the action and show Meg how this sitting thing is REALLY done.

Big Bro & Little Sis

Whenever Megan is on the floor, Ryan has to be right there with her! If she rolls over, he rolls over too.

(He's also there to steal her "B!")

Look at how she just adores him! (Let's hope that lasts!)

Meg-a-muffin!

Who's cuter than this? Don't you just want to squish those legs?

Four Months Old!

Time is flying by WAY too fast! I can't believe that Megan is already 4 months old!

(By this time, Ryan had been on a cruise and to the Temple with us! It seemed that time was going much slower then.)

Megan had her 4 month appointment this week. Her official weight was 15 pounds even and she's 25 inches long.

She's "Miss Smiley" all the time now. (Unless something is getting in the way of eating - i.e. mom not getting undressed fast enough!)

She's sitting up in her Bumbo now and is kind of "roley poley" when we put her on the floor, but hasn't turned over yet.

She ADORES her big brother! Whenever he is close, she studies everything he does (Hmmm...that might not be a good thing!)

The first picture is the funniest! She's pulling her lips in, and I caught it just right!

Little Miss Spider

Just a quick Halloween preview! No, I'm not going to make my daughter trick-or-treat naked!

Picture a purple shirt with a little black spider on it that was handed down from some adorable girls at Church. (Thanks dimonty! Meg is going to be so well dressed!) She'll also be wearing black tights.

I found this tulle with purple sprinkles at JoAnn's, so I sewed it up with some elastic to make a "tu-tu" of sorts. (Gramma Sharon would be proud!) I also took a $1 headband that I found at Job Lot (spider already attached), took it apart, added more tulle, and then sewed the spider back on. Pretty good for less than $10!

You'll have to wait for the official picture at Halloween! (Still working on Ryan's costume...more details later!)

Pretty Girl!

Isn't she GORGEOUS?

Yes, I know, I'm biased...but I can't help it! I love her chubby thighs - it makes me so happy to just squish them! I love how she crinkles her nose when she smiles. I also love that her hair is red!

I took these pictures yesterday. She was sitting in the bumbo on Ric's chair.

When Ryan was about the same age, I took similar pictures.
What do you think? They're definitely related! :)

Two Months!

Two months old! Look at those cute little round cheeks!

Friday was her 2-month appointment. She officially weighed 12 pounds 10 ounces. WOW! She's also 23 1/4" long! Big girl! (Ryan at 2 months was the same length, but only 10 pounds 5 ounces.)

She's got cute little rolls on her legs, but not TOO squishy! Just enough to be cute!

Meg also had to have 3 shots and an oral Rotovirus thingy. So....Friday night and yesterday weren't very much fun for her - she just didn't feel well and had a slight fever.

But she's back to her happy self now! (That is unless I wait to long to feed her!)

Does it get any cuter than this?

Being cute...

Look at those little cheeks! She's getting so big! I can't believe how fast 6 weeks has flown by! Now she's starting to smile - and I'm starting to feel like myself again! (In fact...I actually went to Target earlier this week with BOTH kids all by myself! It's the little things, you know?)

Ummm...I think it's just a lucky shot that I got her winking! Of course...just after I took this picture, she spit up her breakfast! hehe

Hey Bright Eyes! :)

One Month Old! (Already?)

Yes, it's a blurry picture, but I love how she stuck her tongue out! :)

One month old today! WOW! Time goes even faster when you have two kids!

Megs had her 1-Month checkup today. She is about 21 1/2 inches long (hard to tell because she just doesn't stretch out all the way to get measured!) AND she weighs 10 pounds 13 ounces! Big girl!

She doesn't look like a 10 pounder to me, but she's so long it's all spread out!

Megan is a joy to have in our family! Even big brother Ryan loves to give her kisses!

Week of Firsts - First Bath!

It was finally time for Megan's first bath this week! Ryan was a BIG help, showing Mom how to do it - since he's a pro, you know.

Meg was pretty good about it at first - she enjoyed the warm water and tolerated being soaped up... but then...

She either got cold, or got tired of all the fussing with the washcloths and such! It ended with a screaming, wet, slippery baby girl! But at least she has that "New Baby Smell" again!

Rough night for Mommy

Well, just as we started to think that we might be on the right track to somehow getting a routine, Megan threw Mommy a real curve ball last night. Mommy was up every hour with Megan and got absolutely no relief; mommy just has the magic touch and the nursing equipment that I don't have. We managed to get Marnell a big nap this morning, but she still feels exhausted and has a headache that she brought home with her when Megan was born 3 weeks ago!

Ryan & "Mei Mei"

Ryan can't give Megan enough kisses lately! He's just so excited to see her every morning. I think he's gotten over the initial shock that she's here to stay! He's always asking to hold her too - so with a little supervision, here they are! Megan doesn't look too happy about it though!

He's also found a way to say her name - "Mei Mei" - close enough! :)

If you look closely...you may pick out many different bumps and bruises on Ryan's head. All of a sudden, his nickname is "Scrape!" Overnight he became fearless and he has the bruises, scrapes, black eye, and bumps to prove it! People are going to think we've started to abuse him!

Beautiful Baby!

A friend of mine just *had* to play with her new camera yesterday- so of course I let her photograph Megan! The results are gorgeous! (Someday I'll have a fabulous camera like that...until then I'll just drool over hers!)

Click to take a look! Make sure you leave comments for her! (Thanks TeNeale!)
