To my Wonderful Husband...

THANK YOU for letting me out of the house on your day off to spend time with my friend.

THANK YOU for not getting upset when I was GONE for FIVE hours and you were home being "Dad."

My toes are HAPPY with a new coat of "paint."

My feet are HAPPY with the rub down they got.

My ego is HAPPY because our cute waiter flirted with two married ladies who sat and talked and laughed WAY TOO MUCH about all sorts of things (including kids and husbands) at lunch. (Ohhh...and he WAS cute!)

My heart is HAPPY because I was able to get some quality GIRL time to recharge my batteries.

I'm HAPPY ALL OVER because you are so wonderful!

PS - Thanks Rachael for a FABULOUS time!

LOVE those Specs!

So all of a sudden it got quiet in the living room. Of course, that usually means that something isn't right.

I walked in...and saw Megan, sitting behind the coffee table, WITH (look closely) Mr. Potato Head glasses on!

I just about died when she looked up at me - like she was a little old lady peering over her spectacles! Too bad I had to run for my camera and this is all I could get!

(Yes, she is wearing Ryan's t-shirt, she insisted.)

Overheard again...

Mom: Megan, go get your pink sneakers so we can go to the store.

Megan: neakerths?

Mom: Yes, sneakers.

Meg: neakerths, neakerths, neakerths, neakerths, neakerths, neakerths

Just overheard...

Ryan: Marnellllll....

Mom: What?

Ryan: Marnellllll...

Mom: You can call me "Mom"

Ryan: No, I can't - I want to call you Marnell because I love you!

Overheard...catching up!

Overheard just a few minutes ago...

Mom: Ryan? What are you doing? (As he's standing behind me on the chair)

Ryan: I'm putting your hoodie up.

Ryan: sings "Dum Dum Dum Dum-de-Dum Dum-de-Dum" (Darth Vader Theme)

Mom: Nice...

------------------------------------------------------

Overheard outside the bathroom door...

Ryan: Megan? Will you give me a hug?

Megan: No.

Ryan: Megan? Will you give me a high-five?

*slap*

------------------------------------------------------

Overheard at dinner the other night...

Dad: Ryan? Did you just lie to me?

Ryan: I have to lie Daddy.

Dad: Why do you have to lie?

Ryan: Because I did bad things.

Mom: (laughs to herself in the kitchen)

Overheard this morning

Ryan: (Looking out the window at the melting snow) Mommy! I see grass!

Mom: Yep - the snow is melting!

Ryan: That means it's almost time for baseball season!

Hmmm...remember the movie Fever Pitch? I'm a little scared!

It's actually WARM outside!

OK...warmer would be a better way to describe it. We might even be in the 50's tomorrow! (Break out the suntan lotion!)

It's definitely warm enough for a walk to feed the horses.

The white and brown horse is the bully - he's always sticking his nose out for more carrots and pushing the others away.

Ryan really like the brown one - it's a little smaller, and nicer.

Megan loved seeing them, from a distance. The only way she would get close to help me feed them was if I was carrying her...

Such a good helper!

Ryan just wants to help.

All.The.Time.

About half of the time, he's really a help. The other times...not so much.

Today, I was shoveling outside so that Ric could get into the driveway tonight. (I know, I just had surgery 2 weeks ago - I was taking it easy Mom!) Megan and Ryan were both out with me. Ryan was ALL OVER in the snow - LOVING it! Megan just stood there watching me while her little nose and cheeks turned pink.

After about 15 minutes, Megan had enough and started to let me (and the rest of the neighborhood) know about it. So I left Ryan outside and brought her in. A few minutes later, once she was de-layered, PJ's back on (it's a snow day - no clothes allowed!), and sitting in front of Blue's Clues, I headed back out to check on Ryan.

At first I didn't see him, but I heard scraping. He had opened Ric's van door, climbed in (there's snow evidence on the driver's seat and floor) and got the scrapers out. He was so proud that he was helping Daddy clean the snow off the car. Unfortunately, he only got up about 4 feet high, but I helped him with the rest.

He's such a little "turd" sometimes - but then there are others, like this time. He's the sweetest boy anyone could know. It's a good thing we have those times! :)

(Can't wait until Ric sits on the driver's seat! hehe He took my car today since I wasn't going out and it has the new tires!)

The reason it's difficult...

...to make anything in our kitchen. First, this picture shows the only "real" counter. Second, every time we pull out the mixer, two chairs "magically" scoot across the floor and two little ones climb on top of them!

(Just one reason why you'll see chairs on the kitchen table most of the time!)

Don't you LOVE our 70's cabinets? That's a Spring project that I'm REALLY looking forward too! Anyone out there have experience painting varnished doors?

What did YOU do on your Snow Day?

So everything is canceled since we've gotten snow overnight.

I'm doing my best to be productive - and here's the result.

While I'm trying to organize closets, Ryan decides to measure the house - in hangars.

The result? According to him, it's an EVEN 100. He even counted twice.

(I know...I need to vacuum, that's next. After the blog post that is!)
