Kitchen Progress

I don't know why it's taken so long to get these pictures up. I guess I was hoping that it would all be done before I unveiled the results. But here you go - the progress...

We used to have a soffet (sp?) between the cabinets over the sink where there was a small recessed light. I tore that down and we rewired (ok, Ric rewired) so that we could hang a pendant light. We still need to put up new trim around the window and the ceiling, but for the most part, the top is done.

Now to finish the bottom cabinets! It's a long process when the kids are around - and should be interesting to see what they take out of the cabinets when I take the doors off! You can really see the difference in the last picture between the upper and lower cabinets. The kitchen is SO much brighter now!

Our plan is to remove the stove top and wall oven to replace them with a range/microwave combo. That will give me actual counter space where the stove top has been! (Maybe we'll splurge for a new counter too! Who knows...we can always dream!)
