Are we terrible parents?

Ryan has been a challenge lately. Especially when it comes to nap time. He so desperately needs a nap, but fights me every day. (If he doesn't get his nap, there's HELL to pay later on in the day!)

Is it awful that I've had to put up this latch to keep him in his room? (Especially now that he can climb out of the crib, so that's no longer an option for time outs.)

(Just my luck, some "do-gooder" will find this post and call DCYF! *sigh*)

Here's hoping that Ryan grows out of his terrible 2's by the time he's 3 in December! (And no...I don't want to hear from ANYONE about how THREE is the new TWO!)

:)

Marni - I have received your newsletter for months now, and have loved it. I just now clicked over to your family website and can't help but to leave a comment on this post because I was in the same boat as you with my little boy. Someone gave me the advice to put the latch hook on his room and it absolutely saved me. We were getting into battles daily and he would not stay in his room. I had not gone thru this with my daughter so it seemed so extreme. But it got us through the tough times. Now (a year later) we never use the lock but it is still on the door so I can use it as a threat if needed, but I haven't needed to in ages. Keep the faith ~ it does get easier. Some kids need more defined boundaries! Good luck in your travels!

THANK YOU SO MUCH Danielle! I really appreciate your comments! Ryan can be the best little boy - and a split second later he's INSANE! Good thing he's cute! :)
